Introducing THE INGHAM

THE INGHAM Charity Raceday honours the Australian and global icons of horse racing and founding benefactors of the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research, Mr Bob Ingham AO and Mr Jack Ingham AO.

The highlight of the day is the running of the $2M Group 2 Race, THE INGHAM.

With enthusiastic support from the Ingham family – lynchpins of the racing industry – the proceeds from THE INGHAM Charity Raceday and the accompanying Charity Luncheon will be donated to Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research.

Located in Liverpool, Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research produces world-class research to inspire health and transform models of care for South Western Sydney and beyond.

Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research is embedding medical research in clinical practice, health services and education in Australia and around the world. It is a world leader in medical automation, robotics and health technology to drive prevention, diagnosis and intervention in real time with real impacts for real people.

THE INGHAM Charity Raceday will support the ongoing critical work of medical research for South Western Sydney and beyond.

A community Legacy
worth celebrating

Bob and Jack Ingham never did anything by halves.

They always strove to be the best in whatever they did.

Their hard work and simple work ethic of ‘doing things right and doing the right thing’, grew a humble farm in Casula on the outskirts of Sydney, into the largest integrated poultry producer across Australia and New Zealand.

They created the highly successful thoroughbred breeding and racing empire Woodlands Stud. The bloodstock operation was sold to the ruler of Dubai in the biggest deal ever recorded in the global history of thoroughbred racing and breeding.

Bob and Jack had another bold vision to improve the health and wellbeing of people living in Sydney’s southwest, their home town and heritage. In 2012, Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research opened their world-class, state-of-the-art research building to support Liverpool Hospital and the Western Sydney Local Health District, all thanks to the vision, generosity and philanthropy of Bob and Jack Ingham.

Horse racing and community connections were always their passions so a community raceday to support Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research creates a moment to celebrate and fundraise for the community.
